Collaborative Learning Relating to my Career Plans
I want to be a teacher therfore, learning about collaboritive assignments will really help me in the future. I have learned a lot about collaborative learning this week. I have learned different tips to use when instructing collaborative assignments. I have learned some teacher responsibilities, as well as, some student responsibilities that I did not realize before. I learned that collaborative assignments do not only give social interaction time but, students can learn off of other students. collaborative assignments might also give other students the boost or encouragement they may need from their peers. This also combines different student's ideas which, expands the creativity of the assignment. This information that I have learned will help me when I am giving collaborative assignments; it will help me plan, select group members, and carry-out the assignment efficiently and with control.

Philosophy and My Role As a Teacher
I believe it is my role as a teacher to prepare students for their future careers. I will do this by helping them to understand the basics of education; from reading to division. My students will learn individually as well as work in groups or as a whole. I will create puzzles, ask questions, and get the students involved in the conversation. I will use technology like it is my best friend. I will use it for as many assignments as I can so that my students can also learn to use technology. I will do my best to help my students in any way possible.
I see my primary role as a teacher as preparing students for jobs/careers. In order to survive and stay afloat, people need to have jobs. Therefore, I believe it is my job to prepare each student educationally. In today's society we are looking to technology to help us do most of our jobs. So, I believe I should integrate technology, not into my teaching lessons but, also into the students assignments; for example power point projects.

Assessment Questions
The 4 main learning instructions are learner-centered, knowledge-centered, assessment-centered, and community-centered. The different elements the learner-centered instruction should contain are the students' background knowledge, the students' interest and their social/cultural values. I am not teaching at this moment but, a learner-centered activity could be to have each student pick a famous person of the past or during a certain time frame. Have the students' research their person and role play as their person and give a brief summary of what their person did. The knowledge-centered instruction should contain rigorous content and should help the students understand the material rather than just memorize. Two assessments that are improtant in assessment-centered instruction are formative assessment and summative assessment. Formative assessment measures the learning progress to encourage reflection. Summative assessment is designed to measure the results. Community-centeredness helps explicit values/norms that promote lifelong learning. This helps students and instructors with course expectations. When teachers take their time to do or explain thing it helps get the students cooperation. In return, the students start becoming collaborative in the learning environment. I have not done any community-centered activities yet therefore, I can not share any with you.
You can evaluate your own instruction at any point. It is always good to look back over your instruction. You can evaluate your own instruction by thinking about how your students will respond to the instruction or how you would respond. Would you understand the activity/assignment? Would the students really learn from this assignment? I have no students therefore, I cannot determine if they have become self-evaluative.

My Goals (new)
I know how to use the basics of a computer. I know how to use power point and I know a little about spreadsheets. I know enough to get me through the classes I have taken. I really hope to learn more about spreadsheets. My husband uses them all the time and links different columns and rows together so that if you change one then the others change too. He can also get them to change color when a block goes negative. I want to be able to learn this material that he knows. I also want to be able to make more professional looking power points. I chose these goals because I do not want my husband to out smart me.

My Goals
I hope to learn as much as I can from this class. When I was looking through the syllabus and saw the material we would be learning I was clueless. I hope to learn as much as I can and use it in my future classroom.
